137 Days of Sketching, Day 3 Anchors

Day 3 Anchors, 137 days of sketching.

So we are on day 3! Am I at a loss as to what to sketch? Not yet, just trying out the waters, and doing the simpler stuff first, like anchors! Yep I’m a sketching coward!!!  I hope that is okay.

Last night I asked Mr. Handsome what I should sketch for today.  He said I should sketch him, but with hair.  I’m up for a good challenge! So here it is! The sketch is not as handsome as Mr. Handsome, but it has hair-SUCCESS!

Okay, this is not my drawing.  It is from Adobe Stock Photos, and yes I purchased it.  So there you have it, I am not yet able to sketch people especially people with hair,  I will get there.

Now on to actual Day 3! Anchors.  Simple yet profound.

Anchors are symbols of solid footing, of holding fast. They are stable and steadfast.  There are bible verses about them.

Tattoos feature anchors often with a bit of inspiration like:

1.”I refuse to sink” is one. Oh but wait, you have a tattoo of an anchor, anchors are heavy, they might make you sink (?)

2. Be your own Anchor,  Okay I get that

3. Anchor tattoo with “Semper Fidelus” Yes that is AWESOME

4. Anchors with words engraved in them, sort of like the Hope Anchor Sketch.

Hope can be an anchor, holding us steady while we wait. ( Mr. Handsome said this “hope” does not float, it sinks-maybe I will

Anchors can also hold us back, be a weight we drag as we try to move forward. They can be more of a hindrance than a help.  The saying “Anchors Away”  is very insightful when an anchor is limiting!

I guess we all need to decide what to do with an anchor; appreciate it or figure out how to lose it, Anchors Away

So  Day 3, of 137 Days of Sketches, Anchors is complete.   I will leave you with this:

See you tomorrow!
