137 Days of Sketching, but first Learning from YouTube
Oh what to draw?????? I have a compass in progress, but I really feel like I need to learn more! I guess that is very apparent. So I went to my favorite learning tool – YOUTUBE!!!! If a person can use YOUTUBE to figure out how to build a house, then I hopefully can find some decent instruction about sketching and drawing (and hopefully painting soon!)
I happened on a series called “Start Drawing” by Paul Priestley.
I watched part 1 and did a little practice thing. it was okay, then I boldly watched part 2! Yes, I have learned a lot from these little videos! Thank you, Mr. Priestley!!!
He talked about drawing shapes, not necessarily drawing the oil can that Mr Priestley featured in the video. So I tried it – twice.
Oil Can 1 It looks like a block of cheese with a handle, spout, and top, but for the first attempt, it is okay.
Oil Can 2 is more like the oil can that is featured in the video. So I guess improvement with practice is the lesson here!
I will work on more of these videos and, hopefully, my drawing will improve with time and instructions!
