I posted this a few days ago on Janny D facebook page
“I’ve needed, okay wanted, a “Rollie Cart” for my little oven and microwave. I have exactly way to little counter space in my kitchen so putting these on the cart will free up prime real estate. But then there is the issue of “the budget”! So with enough scrap lumber to build a large tiny house, Mr Handsome and I set out to make a “Rollie Cart”. Using modified plans from @shanty2chic kitchen island design this project is progressing nicely!!! So far we have spent about $20.00 on 4 casters and a small container of wood filler. We will put the top and bottom shelves together hopefully this evening and then I’ll sand for what seems like forever (I do not like sanding), apply the stain and finish then reclaim my counters!!! “
Oh the fun, but the fun has to stop for a week or so. There are other priorities! NOOOOOO! I so want my 36″ of counter space back because that is all I have in my little kitchen!
It is just a “little set back” but………
I will get over it. 🙁
The plans are from Shanty 2 Chic Kitchen Island but there are modified. I used 2×4’s for the legs-with the rounded edges trimmed off, and used 1×4″s for the side supports. I needed the bottom shelf wider so I will be bringing the shelf to the edge of the bottom brace. When we finish this little bit of fun I will write up my modifications in a more formal way because of changes we needed to make to attached the casters, etc.
I did get a new tool to help with this, it is a Ryobi Multitool
I love it!!!, I used it to help clean up the slots that the bottom brace fits into! (I will also use it on another project to clean up over sized biscuits. )
Biscuits you say, not these!
These Biscuits! (great for joining things, but not so good to eat-actually my baked biscuits probably taste as bad and are as hard but that is a post for another day!)
So while I wait to finish this project up I think I will make progress on a quilt or two, or work on Santa Sacks.
Speaking of Santa Sacks!!!! I ordered some from “somewhere else” they are not quite what I expected, they are a little small. I’ll let you know what I am going to do with them. Making Lemonade out of lemons-but it will be fun!
Talk Soon!
