Nested Stars, Simple Applique
The stars for this block, are nested, one on top of the other. A simple fuse and stitch project can add impact to alternate blocks, stand alone or be added to half square triangles for a complex look.
How to use these stars:
1.Print the pattern sheet. (Check the size square-it should measure 1″ top to bottom/side to side.)
2. Draw the stars on the paper side of fusible web, making sure to leave at least 1/2″ between shapes.
3. “Rough” cut out the shapes, leaving at least 1/4″ outside of drawn line.
4. Place the fusible stars on the WRONG side of the fabric. Using an iron set to the appropriate temperature for the fusible you are using, press the star pieces to the fabric.
5. Cut out the shapes.
Repeat this for both size stars.
Remove the paper backing from the small star.
Layer the small star, wrong side to the right side of the large star, centering the small star.
Press in place- again following the instructions from the fusible manufacturer.

Pattern by Edyta Sitar, Laundry Basket Quilts. (at Classic Cotton Shop)
I believe this is on of Edyta Sitar’s greatest gifts. Her instructions are so down to earth!
Add jelly rolls to make this an easy “scrappy look” or use up your own bits and pieces.
Love this quilt, love the blue background, love the stars!
